I changed apartments a few months ago. Finally took some photos of the place. It’s similar to the other, but without running water. So like in training, doing the latrine, pulling my water from a well, and taking bucket showers.
This is a kind of funny way to introduce myself, but i've been looking to find peace corps volunteers in Benin and it led me to your blog. I am hoping to come to Benin this summer, but I have yet to make contact with an NGO directly, so I'm hoping to find a peace corps volunteer who might be able to link me up with an NGO, or with whom I might be able to work directly. (I speak decent french (though certainly not perfect!) and basic yoruba (i don't know if you're in that part of the country or not...)) Anyway, look forward to hearing from you and good luck with your project!
sara - the apartment looks nice! you are going to have the best stories about no running water - really puts some of our "american" problems into perspective - you can do with a lot less than we're fortunate enough to have here.
Sara, Om my good josh no running water! It is such a humbling experience for me to read your entries! I thought my shoes hurting my feet today were a big problem, your post put that one into perspective for me! I have to tell you how very proud I am to know you and to support what you are doing! You make all of us proud to call you a sister, friend and hero. Thank you for all you are doing!
