Cotonou

I've never seen so many mopeds(zemijans)! Zemi-jan is Fon for "take me quick." They are designed to carry up to 2 people, yet in Benin they frequently carry families of five, with their shoping. Sometimes you see a goat or two, or a live wild pig tied up on the back. The way the pack it up is really quite impressive.

Yes goats and pigs on mopeds - that's a good idea! It would be a cheap way to take livestock to the market! I think it would not work so good in Iowa!

What pigs & goats on mopeds..please take a picture of this. families of five? no! it is good gas milage...remember the scene in dumb & dumber? lol.

Candice (my sister) was in China last summer and saw something much like this. She said families of five would be on mopeds just zooming around. They're probably a bit smaller than us large Americans.
